University of Bari Aldo Moro (UNIBA), established in 1924, is made up of 24 departments active in every basic and industrial research.
The Teaching Staff counts 1.439 professor and researchers, who teach in the several degree and post-degree courses offered to the 47.133 registered students.
UNIBA is a beneficiary in many research projects on a national level (PON, Reti di Laboratori, PRIN, FIRB) and on an international level (CORDIS, H2020), in educational projects (Erasmus+, LLP-
Erasmus, Erasmus Mundus, TEMPUS IV, LLP-Leonardo and Jean Monnet) and in cooperation programs (IPA, Interreg IIIA Italy-Greece, ENPI-MED).
International activities are relevant and promoted by several agreements of cultural collaboration with European, American and Chinese universities.
The Departement of Humanities DISUM promotes and coordinates the research, training and education on methodological and technologic innovation applied to cultural heritage, and above all on digital cultural heritage and digital libraries, both in its curricular courses and in the training activities of its innovative Digital Multimedia Lab “Unknown Heritage” within regional, national and
international projects.
DISUM collaborates in education projects on cultural heritage addressed to high and VET schools, aimed at the creation of new digital vocational competences in cultural heritage sector.
